About Emil's Cafe

Pascoe Vale South is home to a new licensed all-day brunch hotspot, Emil’s Cafe.

Once their childhood home, brothers John and George El-Khoury have refurbished their family’s corner milk bar into something special. The brothers’ parents, Emil and Houda El-Khoury, opened the locally cherished milk bar in 1978 and raised their six children in the two-bedroom flat at the rear.

After more than 15 years in the hospitality industry, the brothers have realised a dream by taking over the lease of the building they once grew up in and transforming it into a space for the community to create their own memories.

To carry out their family legacy, Emil’s Cafè serves a modern Australian menu with an Arabic influence, alongside Code Black Coffee and a selection of cocktails, juices and smoothies.

Designed by renowned chef Sam Pinzone, the extensive, family-friendly menu champions local ingredients and small business suppliers. Enjoy all day breakfast, lunch, coffee and drinks every day of the week at Emil’s Cafè.

The bright and breezy fit out offers plenty of nostalgia, including the original fireplace, ceiling features and brickwork. Each dining room is named after the original space – so diners can enjoy their brunch in ‘Mum and Dad’s room’ or sip on a coffee in ‘the living room’. Pooches are also welcome with a dog-friendly courtyard at the back.

With community at the heart of Emil’s Cafè, John and George are thrilled to invite locals to dine in their cafe
